Land Acknowledgement and Beyond
"What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
(Micah 6:8)
We acknowledge that we live and work in Miní Sóta Makhóčhe (Minnesota), the homelands of the Dakota Oyate, and that our farmland is the ancestral territory of our Wahpekute and Mdewakanton neighbors. As a step toward reparations, the ministry and the owners of the farm pay a land tribute (equivalent to the current property tax) to the Indian Land Tenure Foundation through their "Beyond Land Acknowledgement Fund". We commit ourselves to learning the truth about the genocide and generational trauma that led to our 'ownership' of this land, and to working for justice and restoration.
